Pandit Divyang Vakil was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India and began his intensive training in tabla from early childhood. He is the disciple of three gurus : Pandit Sudhirkumar Saxena of the Ajrada gharana , the late Ustad Latif Ahmed Khan of the Delhi gharana and the late Ustad Allah Rakha of the Punjab gharana . His virtuosity and innate sensitivity have distinguished him as an excellent solo and accompanying artist. His distinct style stems from his knowledge of the nuances and intricacies of the three gharanas , coupled with years of intense sadhana

 

Pandit Divyang Vakil is immensely involved in the process of teaching and deals with each of his students on a personal level as he monitors their musical growth. He succeeds in instilling in each student the drive for achievement. When it comes to the musical progression and advancement of the student, no compromise is permitted.
